You know, Stockholm is splendid.
Beyond delightful architectures, crowded and luminous tiny streets and breathtaking views, style is very very interesting too.
I’ve talked about emerging or famous swedish brands here on the blog many times, but it was the first time that I had the chance to dive into one of the most fascinating street styles.
Unfortunately, my Nikon’s automatic focus doesn’t work at all, so it wasn’t easy for me to shoot street style pics.
Anyway, I’ve noted ideas and cues to copy.
The first thing I’ve noticed is the deep sense of elegance and proportion of Stockholm inhabitants.
Fashion victims do not exist (what a lucky thing!), while a contemporary and neat reinterpretation of casual looks dominates.
Ankle booties are the protagonists, match with skinny jeans and destructured tees and sweaters.
The accessories are really important in swedish looks; in particular they use to wear silver gaudy rings, but the final result isn’t garish because the rest of the outfit is pretty sober.
In any case, the most interesting side of Stockholm style is the amount of elegance and refinement that they put in any look they wear.
Swedish fashion is inspired by the particular climate, cold and windy, wich requires praticalness and innovation.
The main colors are tar grey, dull black, mustard and night blue.
Parkas and raincoats proliferate, used with maxi scarves also during summer, while skirts and dresses are almost absent.
Swedish femininity is linear and never shouted, but not even hidden.
Any form of affectation is completely cut out, to be feminine in Stockholm means to be pure energy.
It’s easy to find some punk and dark touchs, styles wich are present also in collections of brands like Acne and Sweedish Hasbeens.
I came back home with a suitcase full of items that I can use in so many ways, like the Acne Pistol boots I was craving for since years, the booties with asymmetric heels from Weekday, the Acne leather wallet and the super cozy wool sweaters for the coldest winter days.
In next days I’ll prepare a mini guide with the best places where to shop and with a list of the must see things, plus restaurants and hotspots in general, to give some tips to the ones of you who are planning a trip to the awesome Stockholm.

Stoccolma è splendida, si sa.
Oltre alle incantevoli architetture, alle stradine affollate e luminose e alle vedute da togliere il respiro, anche lo stile non è da meno.
Mi è capitato più volte di parlare di brand emergenti o più o meno noti del paese scandinavo, ma non avevo ancora avuto modo di tuffarmi in uno degli street style più interessanti.
Purtroppo, colpevole in parte la mia Nikon che mi sta dando problemi con la messa a fuoco automatica, ho faticato a scattare immagini street style, ma non ho mancato di appuntarmi idee e spunti da copiare.
La prima cosa che ho notato è il profondo senso di misura e di eleganza degli abitanti di Stoccolma.
Fashion victims praticamente assenti (per fortuna!), mentre domina una rivisitazione contemporanea e curata del casual.
Gli ankle booties in tutte le loro varianti sono gli assoluti protagonisti, spesso abbinati a skinny e a maglie dal taglio morbido e destrutturato.
Curano moltissimo gli accessori, in particolare abbondano nell’uso di anelli d’argento importanti e vistosi, ma che immersi in un insieme piuttosto sobrio, non danno fastidio.
Ad ogni modo come già detto, l’aspetto più interessante riguarda l’eleganza e la cura che mettono anche nei look più semplici.
La moda svedese è influenzata dal particolare clima, freddo e ventoso, trovandosi così declinata in stili che coniugano praticità e innovazione.
I colori dominanti sono il grigio asfalto, il nero opaco, il senape e il blu notte.
Prolificano parka ed impermeabili, maxi sciarpe da usare anche d’estate, mentre gonne ed abitini sono praticamente assenti.
La femminilità svedese è lineare e mai urlata, ma nemmeno soffocata.
Completamente abolita ogni forma di leziosaggine, a Stoccolma essere femminile significa pura energia.
Qualche tocco punk e dark non manca, stili che ritornano prepotentemente anche nelle collezioni di brand come Acne e Sweedish Hasbeens.
Sono tornata a casa con una valigia piena di capi da sfruttare a 360 gradi, come i Pistol boots di Acne che desideravo da una vita, gli stivaletti con tacco asimmetrico di Weekday, il portafoglio in pelle sempre di Acne ed i morbidi maglioni per le fredde giornate d’inverno.
Nei prossimi giorni preparerò una mini guida completa degli indirizzi migliori per lo shopping (non mancheranno anche indicazioni su cosa vedere, dove mangiare, ecc.) così da poter dare qualche indicazione a chi ha in programma un viaggio nella splendida capitale svedese.
