Licia Florio_Simplicity reborn

Licia Florio is part of the new generation of Milan young fashion designers.

Born in 1985 in Piedmont, she moved to Milan to study at Istituto Marangoni and she currently lives in the italian capital of fashion design.

She created the brand Licia Florio with the purpose to produce elegant, sober, but innovative collections, the perfect combination of lively talent, deep studies and a real Made in Italy.

She claimed fashion insiders’ attention due to her ability to create items that transmit a sense of balance, mastery and freshness.

The AW 2011/2012 collection is an interesting mix of asymmetric cuts and overlaps of fabrics that as final result lead to creations with a bon-ton aftertaste and a minimalist taste.

The predilection for soft shades is spaced out with wise touches of black wich dim the little doll effect and give an halo of urban dynamism.

Licia Florio’s creations join together the typical italian good craftmanship with a nordic boho-chic taste.

Nata in Piemonte nel 1985, si è trasferita a Milano per studiare all’Istituto Marangoni dove tuttora vive e lavora come designer.

Ha dato vita al brand Licia Florio con la ferma volontà di produrre collezioni di un’eleganza discreta, ma innovativa, risultato della perfetta combinazione di vivace talento, studio approfondito e di un vero Made in Italy.

Si è imposta all’attenzione degli addetti ai lavori grazie alla capacità di creare capi che trasmettono un senso di equilibrio, sapienza e freschezza.

La collezione AW 2011/2012 è un interessante mix di tagli asimmetrici e sovrapposizioni di tessuti, che come risultato finale sfociano in abitini con un retrogusto bon-ton ed un sapore minimalista.

La predilezione per tinte tenui è intervallata da sapienti tocchi di nero che smorzano l’effetto bambolina, per donare un’aura di dinamismo metropolitano.

Le creazioni di Licia Florio uniscono l’alta capacità sartoriale tipicamente italiana ad un gusto boho-chic nordico.

Here I am. I’m back to the city after four splendid days at the sea with my beloved aunt.

Sea was on storm, but sky shined with a wonderul light-blue colour.

Tanned skin, new purchases that enrich my collection of accessories, a full immersion in my thoughts.

I read two books, The man in the brown suit written by Agatha Christie and Divorzio all’islamica a Viale Marconi from Amara Lakhous(I don’t know the english translation, I don’t even know if it has been translated), I bought miracolous creams to become a cuter mademoiselle, I collected inspiration images from the pages of Vogue, Elle, Flair and I put them to one side to publish them in a post and inspire you too

I have so many beautiful (I hope) ideas for my blog, september will be a very rich month.

Meanwhile, a wonderful end of summer to you all.

Eccomi, sono tornata. Quattro splendidi giorni al mare con la mia amata zia ed ora sono nuovamente in città.

Il mare era in tempesta, ma il cielo azzurro brillava limpido e sorridente.

Abbronzatura dorata, nuovi acquisti che arricchiscono il parco accessori contenuti nella borsetta, una full immersion nei miei pensieri.

Ho letto due libri, L’uomo vesitito di marrone di Agatha Christie e Divorzio all’islamica a Viale Marconi di Amara Lakhous, ho fatto la mia lista di buoni propositi per l’autunno, ho comprato splendide cremine miracolose per essere una signorina più carina, ho collezionato immagini d’ispirazione da Vogue, Elle, Flair e le ho messe da parte per potere ispirare anche voi in un post.

Ho tante belle (spero) idee per il blog, settembre sarà un mese ricchissimo.

Intanto, una splendida fine d’estate a tutti voi.

Inspiration|Beauty lives in a timeless space

Beauty doesn’t live in a space or age.

It lives anywhere, it leaks in the most unexpected meanders, where to live, grow up, spread over.

Sometimes it stays, sometimes it goes.

Every age has his idea of beauty. In 40’s algid, ethereal, detached beauties like Ingrid Bergman’s one were the most admired, in the 50’s more or less everyone felt in love with pin-up ladies like Marilyn Monroe or Brigitte Bardot.

Now the most popular beauty ideals are not so sharable according to me.

People use to run after to young girls on red carpets, girls with something like a good taste, but nothing like a personality.

Beyond banal talks about the real and deep meaning of beauty, I end to the purest aesthetics and I indicate as real holders of the concept of beauty the ones who have a deep harmony of gestures, features, lights in themselves.

In the image above, the splendid Gladys Cooper, marvellous british actress who has been active between the 40’s and the end of the 60’s in USA cinema.

A perfect example of the concept of beauty we’re talking here, an harmonious emanation of light and unforgotten and unforgettable grace.

La bellezza non ha un luogo, né un tempo. 

Risiede ovunque, si infiltra nei più inaspettati meandri e lì vive, cresce, si diffonde. A volte resta, altre se ne va.

Ogni tempo ha la sua idea di bellezza. Negli anni ’40 si ammiravano donne dalla bellezza algida, eterea, distaccata come Ingrid Bergman, negli anni ’50 ci si innamorava delle signorine pin-up alla Marilyn Monroe o alla Brigitte Bardot.

Ora si scelgono ideali di bellezza almeno da me ben poco condivisibili. Si inseguono come impazziti le uscite sul tappeto rosso di ragazzine con qualche segno di buon gusto, ma poca personalità.

Al di là di banali discorsi sul vero e profondo significato di bellezza, mi fermo all’estetica più pura ed indico come degni di essere determinati da questa magnifica parola solo quegli esemplari che abbiano in sé un’armonia di gesti, lineamenti, luci.

Nell’immagine sopra, la splendida Gladys Cooper, meravigliosa attrice britannica attiva nel cinema statunitense tra gli anni ’40 e la fine dei ’60.

Un esempio perfetto del concetto di bellezza di cui si parla qui, un armonioso sprigionarsi di luce e grazia indimenticata e indimenticabile.

New in|Rawhide Dragon bag

This year, sales are friends.

I did some very good purchases I'm very proud of. I promise I'll show everything to you in a post next days.

Today I'm not at home. 

This morning I went with my friend V. to my secret vintage and second hand shops' adresses and now I'm at my mum's home to study.

The bag in the pics it's one of my recent new ins.

I bought it yesterday at Tozzi in Bologna.

The bag is from a brand called Dragon that I didn't know before.

I tried to find some info about it on the web but I didn't find anything about that brand.

The bag is handmade with rawhide, the colour and the shape make it very useful and easy to match, perfect from more or less any kind of outfit from the morning to the evening.

I think it will be with me everyday during this summer.

Quest'anno i saldi sono miei amici.
Ho fatto degli acquisti a parer mio favolosi e dei quali sono orgogliosa ogni giorno di più.
Appena avrò tempo vi mostrerò tutto in un post.
Oggi sono fuori casa, stamattina ho accompagnato la mia amica V. nei miei indirizzi segreti per lo shopping vintage e secondhand e ora sono a casa della mamma a studiare.
La borsa nelle foto l'ho comprata ieri da Tozzi a Bologna.
E' di un brand che non conoscevo, si chiama Dragon, sul web ho fatto alcune ricerche, ma non trovo nessuna informazione aggiuntiva.
La borsa è di cuoio intrecciato a mano, il colore e la forma la rendono ideale per ogni look, perfetta per una giornata intera fuori casa.
Non penso me ne separerò mai quest'estate.
