Humphrey ChristmasMix and Mingle
Who has ever tried beading and jewellery making? Have you thought about it but never given it a go because you think it's too tricky or fiddly? Well if this is you then you definitely need to take a look at our Beader's Companion blog as there is a brilliant new launch happening tomorrow that I think you might just love!
The collection that's being launched is called Mix & Mingle and is the perfect introduction to beading for those who are put off by the thought that they may find it too difficult. Just one more little sleep
That's right guys, just one more sleep to go and then you will be able to get your hands on the new Humphrey's Corner Christmas collection. In just a few teeny tiny hours there will be 12 new stamp sets and a twin CD-ROM available as Pick of the Day and they really are the cutest things ever. Yesterday I showed you a montage of half of the stamp sets so today I thought I would show you another montage - this time with the rest of the stamp images.
I also wanted to give you one last reminder to enter the competitions before it's too late. If you don't already know, there are two different competitions you can enter. The lovely Stacy created this decoupaged Popcorn the Bear easel card using 12x12 Fairyopolis paper, the Crafter's Companion Ultimate Board and the Popcorn the Bear Birthday Collection CD-ROM. The accompanying envelobox was created using the Envelobox Creator.
Just under the easel card is a pull out drawer where you could pop in a little gift for the lucky recipient. She's one talented lady isn't she?

Carol has combined one of the stamps with backing papers from the CD for stunning results. Hopeless romantic!
I saw a post on our American Crafter's Companion blog that was just too good to not share with you you guys. It's a sweet card by Carmi using the Humphrey's Corner stamps and Spectrum Noir pens. I'll let Carmi explain in her own words how she created this adorable project...
In the Humphrey unmounted rubber stamp collection is this sweet girlie elephant.
She is very shy.
I stamped her using my Rock-a-blocks and black ink.
The image on the package inspired me to colour her in this palette. Happily, I was able to use the new Crafter's Companion Spectrum Noir markers. They are fabulous to work with!
I cut my coloured image into a smaller square and added some foam tape to the back to give it some height on the card.
I placed the bouquet behind her arms by using an x-acto knife to cut a little insert.
Isn't she sweet?
She is originally from the "Birthday Girl" set.
You can see how she can be used for all occasions!

weekend project
DT member Pam Leng has been busy again creating step-by-step projects for us. This time she has created the most gorgeous little set of drawers using Humphrey images for you to store things in. There are quite a few steps in this project so is definitely one for you to try out over a weekend but, believe me, the results will be worth the time spent on it!
Set of Drawers
- Crafters Companion Boxer Board
- Scissors
- Trimmer
- Scoring Tool
- Bone Folder
- One piece 12 x 12 cardstock
- One piece 8” x 8” cardstock
- Two pieces of 9 ⅜ x 9 ⅜" cardstock
- One piece of 11 ⅜ x 9 ⅜" cardstock
- Backing papers
- Ribbon
- Strong Tape
- Spellbinders die and cutting machine
PLEASE NOTE THAT PAM DID NOT USE ANY GLUE TO MAKE EITHER THE DRAWERS OR DRAWER BASE BUT THIS IS JUST PERSONAL PREFERENCE.
1. Score your piece of 12x12" cardstock using your boxer board, starting from the left-hand side at 2”, 4”, 8” and 10”.
2. Turn the piece of cardstock a ¼ turn and score again from the left-hand side at 2”, 4”, 8” and 10”.
3. Leaving your card on the boxer board, at the 6" score line score a line 2” long from the top down. This is shown by the dark blue line.
4. Next cut away the three corners on each corner as shown.
5. Cut along the yellow lines as shown. Cut out along the dark blue lines as shown, this should be ⅛" wide.
6. Cut a strip again ⅛" wide as shown by the green lines.
7. Next take your piece of 8x8" cardstock and, from the left-hand side, score at 2", 4" and 6".
8. Turn your cardstock ¼ turn and score from the left-hand side at 2" & 6". Leaving your cardstock in place score at the 4" score line, score a line 2” long from the top down. This is shown by the dark blue line. Cut along this line - it should be ⅛" wide.
9. Place your piece of card in front of you as shown.
10. Using your bone folder burnish all your score lines, folding the middle score line into a mountain-fold as shown.
11. Next take your piece of 12x12" cardstock and burnish all your score lines. Take the square marked A and the one marked B and fold towards the centre and fold panel marked C over the top.
12. It should now look like this.
13. Now take your piece of 8x8" cardstock you prepared earlier and place inside your drawer base.
14. It should now look like this
15. Fold the four side flaps over.
16.Fold over the last remaining flaps to complete the drawer base ( as in section 14 ). Your drawer base should now look like this...
17. To make the small drawers you will need two of these:
Take a piece of cardstock that measures 9⅜"-square, and from the left-hand side score at 1⅞" and at 3¾" on all sides.
18. Now cut away the three corners from each of the corners and cut along the lines indicated by the green lines.
19. Burnish all of your score lines.
20. Take the squares marked A & B and fold into the centre and fold panel C over the top.
21. Now do the same at the other end.
22. Fold the two side panels in over.
23. To make the larger drawer you need to take your piece of cardstock that measures 11⅜ x 9⅜" and score from the left-hand side 1⅞" and 3¾"on all sides.
24. Cut three squares away from each corner and cut along the lines as indicated by the green line.
25. Burnish all your score lines with your bone folder.
26. Fold square A & B into the centre and fold over panel C, then fold over the other end in the same way.
27. Fold over the side flaps.
28. You now need to decorate the drawers. You will need twenty 1¾" squares of paper and another four pieces of paper measuring 1¾x3¾". First put the decorative squares on the outside of the small drawers, on one square find the middle and make a small hole, double up a small piece of ribbon and push through the hole, fastening to the back with two small strips of strong tape. Then decorative the inside of the drawers. Do same with the larger drawer but this time make two holes on one of the larger panels and put the ribbon through these. Cut four pieces of 1⅞x4" paper to decorative the outside of the drawer base. For the backstand of the drawer base I used a Spellbinders die and traced around the outside of the die onto cardstock, cut out and then cut out the die using my backing paper. I layered the paper onto the cardstock and then attached to the back of the base with glue.
