DT member Pam Leng has been busy again creating step-by-step projects for us. This time she has created the most gorgeous little set of drawers using Humphrey images for you to store things in. There are quite a few steps in this project so is definitely one for you to try out over a weekend but, believe me, the results will be worth the time spent on it!
Set of Drawers
You will need:
PLEASE NOTE THAT PAM DID NOT USE ANY GLUE TO MAKE EITHER THE DRAWERS OR DRAWER BASE BUT THIS IS JUST PERSONAL PREFERENCE.
1. Score your piece of 12x12" cardstock using your boxer board, starting from the left-hand side at 2”, 4”, 8” and 10”.
2. Turn the piece of cardstock a ¼ turn and score again from the left-hand side at 2”, 4”, 8” and 10”.
3. Leaving your card on the boxer board, at the 6" score line score a line 2” long from the top down. This is shown by the dark blue line.
4. Next cut away the three corners on each corner as shown.
5. Cut along the yellow lines as shown. Cut out along the dark blue lines as shown, this should be ⅛" wide.
6. Cut a strip again ⅛" wide as shown by the green lines.
7. Next take your piece of 8x8" cardstock and, from the left-hand side, score at 2", 4" and 6".
8. Turn your cardstock ¼ turn and score from the left-hand side at 2" & 6". Leaving your cardstock in place score at the 4" score line, score a line 2” long from the top down. This is shown by the dark blue line. Cut along this line - it should be ⅛" wide.
9. Place your piece of card in front of you as shown.
10. Using your bone folder burnish all your score lines, folding the middle score line into a mountain-fold as shown.
11. Next take your piece of 12x12" cardstock and burnish all your score lines. Take the square marked A and the one marked B and fold towards the centre and fold panel marked C over the top.
12. It should now look like this.
13. Now take your piece of 8x8" cardstock you prepared earlier and place inside your drawer base.

15. Fold the four side flaps over.
16.Fold over the last remaining flaps to complete the drawer base ( as in section 14 ). Your drawer base should now look like this...
17. To make the small drawers you will need two of these:
Take a piece of cardstock that measures 9⅜"-square, and from the left-hand side score at 1⅞" and at 3¾" on all sides.
18. Now cut away the three corners from each of the corners and cut along the lines indicated by the green lines.
19. Burnish all of your score lines.
20. Take the squares marked A & B and fold into the centre and fold panel C over the top.
21. Now do the same at the other end.
22. Fold the two side panels in over.
23. To make the larger drawer you need to take your piece of cardstock that measures 11⅜ x 9⅜" and score from the left-hand side 1⅞" and 3¾"on all sides.
24. Cut three squares away from each corner and cut along the lines as indicated by the green line.
25. Burnish all your score lines with your bone folder.
26. Fold square A & B into the centre and fold over panel C, then fold over the other end in the same way.
27. Fold over the side flaps.
28. You now need to decorate the drawers. You will need twenty 1¾" squares of paper and another four pieces of paper measuring 1¾x3¾". First put the decorative squares on the outside of the small drawers, on one square find the middle and make a small hole, double up a small piece of ribbon and push through the hole, fastening to the back with two small strips of strong tape. Then decorative the inside of the drawers. Do same with the larger drawer but this time make two holes on one of the larger panels and put the ribbon through these. Cut four pieces of 1⅞x4" paper to decorative the outside of the drawer base. For the backstand of the drawer base I used a Spellbinders die and traced around the outside of the die onto cardstock, cut out and then cut out the die using my backing paper. I layered the paper onto the cardstock and then attached to the back of the base with glue.
