Cant quite believe how slow I have been on the ole Pre collections for Spring Summer 2012, thank god for Burberry emailing me direct and bringing this to my attention. Just realised we are now catching up with the Olympics in Fashion, I remember when the date was set… thinking…. that’s donkeys years away, soon comes round fast hey! ( Not that I'm really up for any olympic action, im more about tourist attractions than terrorist attractions. Am I allowed to say that… Oh well I just did!
So hey (change of subject lol) back to Burberry.
One common demonitor that links Bailey to Burberry is the word heritage. A constant need to reminisce/ go back to the 'Burberry' roots! The reinvention of classic burberry silouhettes, such as single breasted trench coats, if there's no trench it aint iconically Burbs. With the help of Bailey the Burberry trench lives on and moves forward.
When I saw the collection today, the first thing that caught my eye was the raffia blanket stitching highlighting the perimeter of one of the trenches (hence the title)….. Genious no??? Well in my opinion it is, if only I knew how to blanket stitch??!! hmmmmm.
The collection includes an impressive new selection of colour, pale minks, stones and off whites are brought to life with Chrome yellow, emerald greens & deep peacock blue's. A cross section of Geometric prints help to bind the collection together.
