got a night of nothing else to do

here's a quick little New Look outfit post!

quick because I've got a bottle of red wine and a Rent dvd calling my name...

tunic, cardigan, leggings, + floral flats- new look // head band- primark

I needed a cozy outfit for a dreary day, and this sweater is definitely cozy. even though this outfit is not what comes to mind as a really "me" look, it's my favourite New Look outfit that I have. it's comfy and cute, and I just love the crochet pattern on the top. 

too bad the coziness didn't extend to make the photos nicer; darn rain. 

oh well! see ya.

I'm very happy to report that today full internet has been restored to the King-Goulding household (that's us).  which means I am officially back to blogging! yayyy I've missed you all. I am SO behind on my reading.

not much has happened on the past couple weeks that you would really want updating about... still working at New Look, still needing a second job, still spending most of my free time watching dvds and otherwise avoiding social contact.

I've had to start dressing entirely in New Look garb, which is a little annoying. mostly because I have really short shifts- four hours- but I'm in almost every day, so it feels like kind of a wasted outfit opportunity. I'm starting to change when I get home/before I leave the apartment again, so hopefully that will make outfit posts far less boring and repetitive.

but for now, I'll just be sharing my regular work outfits, because you haven't seen them yet. :)

isn't this maxi pretty?? I bought it instead of the one I really wanted at monsoon, because it was similar but cheaper and... for work. I really love the colours, and the cute detail of the rainbow stitching. 

a lot of the stuff at New Look is pretty cute, and it's an ok job, but I'm not getting nearly enough hours. so I'm kinda looking around for anything to get a little more cash. there's not the greatest selection of jobs in Aberdeen.

I did line up a few job interviews this week... one with Zara went horribly. I'm not exactly sure what happened, but I babbled like an idiot and ended up, at one point, talking about Doctor Who. 

I did not get the job.

today I had an interview at Topshop, which I was/am majorly excited about, and actually went really well (I think). but it's only part-time, so I'd still need to find another job to supplement the hours I need to, you know... pay rent. oi. I still really hope I get it though! I love Topshop.

anyway I guess that about sums up recent happenings. thanks for sticking around!

wow, I guess it's been a while!
sorry for the accidental hiatus- it's been a busy couple of days with very little sleep. but I had a very fun weekend! hope you all did too.

even though I won't get my first paycheck till the end of July (monthly payment? what?) I made my first New Look purchase. it was a dress that was on mega-sale. I started to feel pretty bad wearing outfits from anywhere but New Look, so I thought I should get at least one thing that I liked... the dress actually reminded me of Barcelona!

these photos are from friday night. after working all week for the first time in months, I just wanted to take it easy on the weekend. friday was pretty chill, Brando and I just hung out at home and I'm pretty sure I took a nap right before we went out to get these pictures... I actually think the nighttime photo shoot turned out pretty well! I was skeptical about the lighting, but it doesn't get completely dark here till around 11 anyways. this was at about 10.

we spent saturday easting Asda pizza and asparagus, watching Mad Men, and drinking red wine. fantastic. then we went out to meet up with a few friends and had a blast. it was a very good weekend indeed. I need more like this.

I got the job!!

I'm so relieved. finally, some income! I haven't worked in three months. starting monday, I am officially employed at New Look. they have some cute things and I get a 50% discount, which is nice because, like AA, you have to wear only their clothes to work. 

in honour of my new position, I thought I'd browse the website and share a few things I might be purchasing in the future! (since I currently own zilch from new look...)

it's no dream job, but money is money. and they'll let me do some travelling. I've decided that's really what this year is going to be about for me; going new places, flitting off to Ireland for the weekend, seeing concerts in Glasgow. so what if it takes me another year to become a "real" journalist? maybe I'll actually have something to say by then. 

anyways, that's my good news!
