“I believe in pink. I believe that laughing is the best calorie burner. I believe in kissing, kissing a lot. I believe in being strong when everything seems to be going wrong. I believe that happy girls are the prettiest girls. I believe that tomorrow is another day and I believe in miracles.”
-- Audrey Hepburn

This is my Audrey Hepburn dress. Whenever I wear it I feel so much like Audrey...and yeah, I know this is sort of the cliche little-black-dress-and-Audrey-Hepburn-post, but it's all good, right? Right. As so many say, Audrey Hepburn is a huge inspiration to me not just in style, but in personality, demeanor, philosophy, and as a person.

These photos were actually taken yesterday by Lily, as she's with my mom, Wendy, and Sarah at some of Sarah's tests and doctor appointments for the next day and a half, and I am now camera-less. Sarah's appointments aren't really huge or anything, but I would very much appreciate thoughts and prayers for her. One of her appointments is an EEG for her epilepsy to test her seizure activity, so I really hope those results are better than they were last time.

I hope you all are having a great day! ♥

and a hazy, starry tomorrow.

I feel like this outfit is slightly reminiscent of this one, but perhaps more demure and and less wild. {My definition of "wild" in an outfit makes me laugh...for me it consists of crazy hair and an unlikely accessory, haha.} Thanks to Wendy for letting me use her poncho again! I'm on the hunt for a knit cape, so like a poncho but it buttons up and has arm holes. I've found a few on Etsy that I like, but none that just scream my name, ya know?

My beautiful friend, Hillary, sent me these lovely vintage gloves along with a few other goodies last month and I'm in love with them. Now that it's fall I can start using them more, which makes me super happy. ♥ Keep an eye out for another item she sent me in a later outfit post...

In my last outfit post a few of you asked if it's really all that cold here, and if all the leaves have fallen yet. I live further north in the US, plus I live in the woods, so it's quite chilly here right now. Today it warmed up a bit, but the sun is making very few appearances lately. And as to the leaves falling...some have fallen, but most are just starting to turn their autumnal hues. The woods I was in before is full of pine trees that only grow pine needles, which are at the very tip-tops of the trees, so you can't see them. So then the woods looks very empty and winter-y, even in summer.

My room is finished! I really like how much more space we have now, and I have a larger area for me and my stuff, which is always nice. Pluuuuus, I have more clothing storage space! My clothes never fit in both my dresser and my closet once I pull out all my sweaters, and now I have enough space with extra! Yay!

I hope you all had a great weekend! ♥

the sun beyond the fog

I'm feeling a bit better today...I have less of a cold, but my headache is still lingering. Hopefully it decides to go away completely tomorrow so I can fully concentrate on school.

Today started out just lovely, and this afternoon was particularly sweet. But things have just sort of gone emotionally and somewhat circumstantially downhill...I dunno, just feeling really down and upset, but I'm trying to keep things in perspective. Sometimes all the perspective I can seem to get is a bleak, misty, grey picture. Kind of like the lake was today...like all I can do is step as close as I can to the edge before falling into the water, while trying to see the sun beyond the fog and through the thick clouds. I know the light is there...I just need to look hard enough.

I love Wendy's bangs like this with her headscarf...and with the cat-eye glasses, it's so thirties/forties! She is just too darling and cute.

I can't seem to get enough of sweaters, collared shirts, and loafers lately...hope my outfits don't seem too boring to you guys! This coral sweater and blue collared blouse are two of the items I thrifted earlier this week...the sweater is so cozy, and the blouse has the prettiest lace detailing that you can sort of see on the collar. Love it.

I hope you all had a lovely weekend!

an autumn stroll

Yesterday evening, Lily and I went for a beautiful walk on a trail up in the woods, which eventually leads down to the lake. I know I keep talking about the fall weather, but it really was gorgeous out again. We had a lot of fun enjoying the sunshine, brisk air, and just talking and laughing.

Outfit photos didn't turn out that great, which is why there are only four photos. I'll have to re-photograph my outfit some other time so you guys can see it better. It was really similar to what I wore the day before, just a different shirt of my dad's and another v-neck sweater. Dad's shirt + a sweater + tights = comfiest thing you will ever wear in your life, I swear.

I've had a terrible headache for the past three days now...ugh, I wish it would go away!

I hope you all are excited that it's the weekend! I know I am!
